Roots of Hope – Jinja Tree Planting Drive 2025

To plant 1,000 indigenous trees across public spaces and schools in Jinja to promote climate resilience, community involvement, and youth education on environmental stewardship.

Why This Event Matters:

• Uganda loses thousands of hectares of forest cover annually

• Jinja, as a growing city, faces deforestation and increased heat

• Trees offer cooling, clean air, improved mental well-being, and future climate balance

• PHU aims to drive collective impact through visible, trackable giving and action

Activities of the Day:

1. Opening ceremony & welcome by PHU team and local leaders

2. Tree planting in designated areas (guided by forestry experts)

3. Youth eco-education session (on-site storytelling, poem, or short skit)

4. Refreshments and community networking

5. Photo session and donor recognition
