Story

Bless a Child Foundation (BCF)

A PHU-verified cause.

Bless a Child Foundation (BCF) is a non-profit organization providing comprehensive care and support services to children aged 0–15 years living with cancer and related infections in Uganda.

Founded in March 2007 by Brian Walusimbi, a passionate entertainer and humanitarian, BCF was born from a deep need — children battling cancer in Uganda had little to no access to quality care, emotional support, or dignified living conditions during treatment.

From these humble beginnings, Brian and his team have built a safe haven of hope and healing for more than 7,000 children and families across Uganda.
Today, BCF operates from Plot 140, Sir Apollo Kaggwa Road, Makerere Kikoni, and cares for 53 children through a compassionate, holistic model that integrates healthcare, nutrition, play, and psychosocial support.

Our Mission

To restore hope and improve the quality of life of children living with cancer and related infections through love, care, and holistic support — ensuring every child feels seen, safe, and celebrated.

Our Story & Impact

The Bless a Child Foundation Homes offer a home away from home” for children living with cancer and their caregivers. Each home provides:

  • Comfortable accommodation and beds
  • Daily nutritious meals
  • Physical care and hygiene support
  • Play therapy and recreational activities

These services are provided completely free of charge, relieving families — many from rural areas or neighboring countries — of the heavy financial and emotional burden that comes with long hospital treatments.

Currently, BCF runs three homes:

  • Akiba Home (opened in 2010)
  • Grace Home
  • Mikisa Home

Together, they have hosted and supported over 3,000 families, turning tears into laughter and despair into determination.

BCF also runs Fun House Creations, an entertainment arm founded by Brian himself, where he performs as a clown at hospitals and children’s events — bringing joy to young patients and their families.
